"I have seen that in any great under-taking it is not enough for a man to depend simply upon himself."

At Last Move Farm, we are 100% committed to giving your horses quality care, but that may be where the comparisons to other Central Kentucky horse farms end.

We know what it takes to raise a good racehorse, and we will not compromise the future soundness of your horse by practices meant to "hurry nature along." Such practices may achieve high dollar figures in the auction ring, but can do irreparable harm to the horse and to the gene pool.

Last Move Farm cares first and foremost about the horse. We provide a safe, laid-back environment for broodmares, young horses or those needing some down-time from the track. Our lay-up program is second to none, with knowledgeable handlers skilled in post-surgical care.

Large 12 X 20 foaling stalls are equipped with video cameras, and our repro vets are some of the best in the country.

We're small (and we like it that way!) so spaces are limited. Horses are not just a number to us, they are individuals that deserve to be loved for who they are and given every opportunity to thrive and succeed.

Last Move Farm is best suited to those wanting to breed and race their own horses, and those with the patience needed to watch their efforts blossom.

At Last Move Farm, we don't believe in hot-housing horses. Horses do better and remain healthier when they are doing what nature intended...spending as much time as possible outdoors, moving and grazing. Living like this promotes healthy digestive and respiratory systems, cutting down on the likelihood of colic and lung infections.

Of course, when horses are allowed to be horses, they do run the risk of bumps and bruises. Most injuries will be minor, and while the blemish might take away some $$ in the auction ring, the good done by letting your horse be a horse will stand you in good stead at the races.

Life on the track is hard on horses, being almost the polar opposite of what nature intended. Shouldn't your horses' "vacation" time be as close to nature as possible?
